Chemical Assessments

The chemicals that are released to the environment, either from an incident or day-to-day operations, are dependent upon the type of material used and facility processes performed at a site.  Many of these chemicals have unique properties and toxicological effects that must be evaluated differently from other chemicals, such as those having mutagenic effects and derivative compounds occurring from biodegradation.  SRS has a solid understanding of the methods and procedures for evaluating an array of individual chemicals and chemical compounds and groupings, a few of which are listed below.

Petroleum Compounds
• Unleaded and Leaded Gasoline, Diesel, Waste Oil, etc.

Chlorinated Compounds

Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs)

Inorganics/Metals

Transformer Oils

Mutagenic Compounds (e.g. Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons, Hexavalent Chromium, Trichloroethylene, Vinyl Chloride)
